0.7.449 Patch Notes – A new track and more changes

With today’s patch we implemented changes to the existing race tracks, balancing optimizations and a new race track.

Hello pilots,

a new track with the preliminary name “GT1” is now available!

Like the already existing tracks, GT1 offers a few special features and may shake up the highscores: you can look forward to races without wall contact as the race track is especially wide.

Skilled players may avoid crashes with the track borders altogether. However, there are so-called slowing lanes on both sides of the track. These do not cause energy loss when driving over them, but will slow the racer down.

Many more surprises await you on the new track, like a gigantic quarter pipe with an energy restoration lane at the outer edge and numerous chicanes that will put your skills to the test.

The new track is available from Tier 1 to Tier 5.

The other changes affect the balancing and the existing tracks:

Race Tracks

Coastal / Airport

  • external booster pads and pick-ups were balanced

Canyon

  • new external booster pads and pick-ups were added to make the races more fast-paced and action-packed

Balancing

General

  • all engines received a new energy refill rate
  • the strengths and weaknesses of some engines are more emphasized now (acceleration, energy, handling)
  • As many engines now have a better energy refill rate, the power of energy fields on the race tracks is reduced to 90%

IES

  • the respawn energy of all IES racers was reduced from 60% to 45%
  • the cooling delay was increased

Other

  • pick-ups respawn much quicker now
  • highscores are displayed correctly when first opened
  • graphic and audio effects of energy fields are no longer disrupted on longer fields
  • it is not possible any more, to use weapons and pick-ups after finishing the last lap

Hint: To have as many testers as possible at the same time please try to login between 19:00 and 21:00 CET!
