Today, we would like to give you another update on what we are currently working on.
Since the start of the closed beta, a lot of your feedback has been about the impression of speed in Quantum Rush. Especially on tier 1, you found it lacking. The problem: the speeds are really high, up to 1000 km/h already on tier 1, but to the eye it seems much slower.
We took your feedback to heart and worked on making the speed more tangible.
The team’s artists have made changes to the race tracks’ textures to give the eye more clues as to the actual speed at which the racer is moving. Additionally, the team’s programmers have made significant improvements to the camera, which now dynamically adjusts to your racer’s current speed. Especially the dynamic adjustment of the field of view and of the camera’s distance to the ground will allow you to experience the high velocities in Quantum Rush on your screen.
First tests have shown that these improvements make a big difference and that we are close to reaching our goal. Consequently, you can expect to see these changes go online soon.
We hope you enjoyed this little insight into the development of Quantum Rush.
Hint: If you are looking to participate in races with many other players, try to log in between 19:00 and 21:00 CET! Scheduling online races with other beta testers is now also possible via the Quantum Rush Steam group http://steamcommunity.com/groups/quantumrush.
Have fun on the race tracks!
